Jefferson Parish affected areas, street flooding from heavy rain

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Jefferson Parish Emergency Management released a list of street flooding in Jefferson as of 6:55 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 31).

Affected areas on the east bank include:

• EJ Hospital (4200 Houma) flooded all around
• Transcontinental Dr
• W Esplanade between Severn and N Causeway
• W Metairie Canal at Cleary; the water is approx. 5 ft from the top
• 4509 Cleary Ave, stalled vehicle
• Clearview Pkwy between Veterans and Kawanee
• 3100-block Minnesota
• 4500-block Academy Dr
• Deep water on Causeway between I-10 and Veterans; was still passable, but vehicles were stalling out.
• Kawanee & N Woodlawn Ave, ME….resident requesting barricades on Kawanee Ave between N Woodlawn and Clearview due to flooded streets, water being pushed into homes
• 900-block Martin Behrman Hwy, ME
• Transcontinental between W Esplanade and the Lake is impassable
• Transcontinental and Fairfield, vehicle stalled

Neutral ground parking is allowed through Sunday at 3 p.m. due to heavy rain, the City of New Orleans says.
