1 killed, two wounded in North Lawndale shooting

A 29-year-old man was killed and two other people wounded in a shooting Saturday afternoon in North Lawndale, Chicago police said.

At 5:18 p.m., men ages 23 and 29, and a 35-year-old woman were standing on a sidewalk in the 3400 block of West Ogden Avenue when a vehicle pulled up to them, police said.

Two unidentified people then got out of the car and fired shots at all three victims before fleeing westbound on Ogden Avenue, according to police.

The 29-year-old man was shot in the chest and taken to Stroger Hospital, where he later died, police said. The 23-year-old was shot in the stomach and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

The woman — shot in the left leg — was transported to the same hospital in good condition, police said.

Area 4 detectives are investigating, police said.
