Volcanc Ash: The political machine revs up for more Honolulu rail taxes

The counties are expected to push hard in next year’s Legislature for a forever extension of the 0.5% general excise tax surcharge that started out as a 15-year tax to build Honolulu rail and later was extended twice and expanded to the other counties.
