Woman critically injured in stabbing while jogging on Brooklyn bike path
A 28-year-old woman remained in critical condition Saturday evening after being stabbed in the neck while jogging along a Brooklyn bike path Friday night, a law enforcement source told NBC New York.
Her father found her gravely injured after losing contact with her and going to look for her, the source said.

The woman has undergone surgery, but her injuries are so severe that investigators have not yet been able to question her about what happened. Police have made no arrests and have not identified a suspect or released a description of the attacker.
The stabbing happened along the bike path near Bay 17th Street and Shore Parkway in Bath Beach. Police said officers responded to a 911 call.
Investigators expanded the crime scene Saturday as they worked to piece together what happened. They found a large trail of blood leading from the bike path to the grassy area where the woman was discovered.
It remains unclear whether anything was stolen, and police have not identified a motive.

“I don’t know what to do because I frequently ride in a bike here almost every day, it’s terrible terrible news,” said bicyclist Alicia Oleonik.
Another bike rider named “Andy” told News 4, “Years ago, you never heard about this in Bay Ridge. This was unspeakable.”
