VALLEY GLEN, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- An LAPD officer heading to an emergency backup call at a rowdy Halloween party struck and killed a pedestrian overnight.
It all started with a chaotic Halloween house party on Weddington Street in Sherman Oaks, leading to the deadly crash miles away in Valley Glen.
Police got a "shots fired" call and found an out-of-control crowd of 300 people at the party in question. The party was eventually cleared out and nobody was hurt.
The Los Angeles Police Department confirms the officer who was called for backup was en route to the party with lights and sirens when they struck the pedestrian on Woodman Avenue between Bessemer and Erwin Streets.
That person died at the scene.
