Town of Rossville holds inaugural Veterans Banner dedication ceremony
ROSSVILLE, Tenn. (WMC) - The Town of Rossville will honor 40 local military heroes Sunday afternoon with the dedication of its inaugural Rossville Veterans Banner Program.
The ceremony begins at 1:30 p.m. at Lafayette Park, located along Highway 194 near the railroad tracks.
Throughout November, banners honoring veterans who live in Rossville, previously resided in the town, or share a close tie to the community will line Highway 194.
“Many of us know a veteran personally—a family member, a friend, a neighbor, or someone who has served alongside us,” said Rossville Alderman Jeff Wooden, who helped bring the initiative to the town. “I wanted our town to have a way to recognize these men and women and let them know that we appreciate their service.”
The banners will remain on display along Highway 194 through the end of the month.
