San Juan County warns residents close to the rivers to evacuate

SAN JUAN COUNTY, N.M. — San Juan County emergency officials warned anyone “a half a mile from the river” should get to higher ground Sunday.

The county sent the advisory at around 2 p.m., advising people the Animas, La Plata and San Juan rivers are rising. They’re directing people to shelter at McGee Park and to “GO NOW”, if threatened.

This is a developing situation. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
