Republican Rick Jackson held what his campaign called his final rally Sunday night in Cumming, drawing a packed crowd of supporters as he made his closing argument ahead of Tuesday’s election.
Throughout his campaign, Jackson has focused on lowering the cost of living, cutting taxes and building on the record of Republican Gov. Brian Kemp.
“We’re not turning Georgia backwards; we’re going to move Georgia forward,” Jackson told supporters.
He also pledged to build on what he described as the state’s economic opportunities while addressing challenges facing Georgia families.

Jackson has also made Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms’ record as Atlanta mayor a central part of his campaign.
Bottoms, meanwhile, has been making her own final appeals to voters, traveling to several locations across Georgia this weekend as part of her “Georgia’s Voice, Georgia’s Vote” tour.
The Democratic nominee has focused on government spending, saying she wants to review how the state uses taxpayer money and examine contracts she believes are wasteful.
“Show me your budget, I’ll show you your priorities,” Bottoms said. “We’ll start looking at those contracts that are wasting money on behalf of this state.”
With early voting now over, both campaigns are turning their attention to voters who will head to the polls on Election Day.
Georgians will decide who leads the state for the next four years when they vote Tuesday, November 3.
