FIRST ALERT: Cloudy, mild Monday; rain, storms impact Election Day Tuesday
MONDAY: Areas of fog and drizzle could start off the new week with a mostly cloudy sky. A mild start in the 50s and 60s will give way to highs in the lower to middle 70s amid a breezy flow from the southeast. Clouds will tend to linger into the overnight period; lows will only drop into the lower to middle 60s by early Tuesday.
ELECTION DAY TUESDAY: Election Day starts cloudy and breezy. If you have plans to vote, earlier will be better as rain moves in around midday and becomes heavy through the late afternoon and evening hours. Winds, outside of storms, could gust to 35 mph at times. Storms later in the day could turn locally heavy and even strong. Severe threat remains low, though not zero. Rain could total an additional 1-2″ before tapering early Wednesday.
EXTENDED: Rain clears early Wednesday morning, giving a slow return to sunshine with highs near 70. Skies remain mostly sunny Thursday with highs in the lower 70s. A second, drier cold front slides through late week, ushering in seasonable fall weather for Friday and the weekend with highs in the upper 60s and crisp morning lows in the 40s. Dry, quiet weather persists through mid-next week.
