$50,000 reward offered as investigators seek footage in Bear Creek Trail stabbing
Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is asking the public for information about the stabbing of a 57-year-old woman on Redmond’s Bear Creek Trail on Jan. 24, 2026.
The woman, who had traveled from out of state to visit her daughter, was walking on the trail at about 9:30 a.m. when she was attacked and stabbed 12 times, according to Jim Fuda, executive director of Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound.
“A passerby helped her and called for emergency services. She was hospitalized in critical condition at Harborview Medical Center,” Fuda said.

The suspect was described as a man about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build, wearing a green hoodie, jeans, and a black beanie.
A composite sketch was created about a week after the attack, after the woman was able to speak with a sketch artist at the hospital.
“The woman’s husband also contributed $50,000 to a reward for the arrest and charge of the person responsible,” Fuda said.
Crime Stoppers is asking anyone who was on the trail that morning, or who may have video footage from the area, to come forward. Investigators are particularly interested in footage from just before the attack and between about 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
“Even if they think it might not be as relevant, let the detectives decide that,” Fuda said.
