general election candidates across 43 state-level offices
What You Need to Know
Nebraska’s Nov. 3 election will reelect or elect new representatives for various federal or state-level races, consider three proposed constitutional amendments and one proposed state law and decide whether 48 Nebraska judges can remain in office and continue serving through 2032.
In all, four federal and 39 state-level offices will appear on the ballot for Congress, state constitutional officers, the Public Service Commission, Nebraska Legislature, State Board of Education and the University of Nebraska Board of Regents. There are two special elections.
The Nebraska Examiner invited all 92 federal and state-level candidates on the ballot to be part of this 2026 General Election Voter Guide. Gubernatorial candidates select a lieutenant governor running mate.
The responses are combined with answers from the Examiner’s 2026 Primary Election Voter Guide.
Candidates for the following races are on the Nov. 3 ballot:
- One U.S. Senate seat.
- All three U.S. House seats.
- Six constitutional officers (governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, state treasurer and auditor of public accounts).
- One of five seats for the Nebraska Public Service Commission.
- Twenty-five of 49 seats for the Nebraska Legislature (including a special election for Legislative District 41, for a two-year term).
- Four of eight seats on the State Board of Education.
- Three of eight seats on the NU Board of Regents (including a special election for NU Regents District 4, for a four-year term).
