Teen shot while playing with gun, another taken into custody in Mid-City, LAPD says

MID-CITY, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A teenager is recovering after being accidentally shot while playing with a gun in the Mid-City area, and a second teenager was taken into custody.

The incident unfolded around 10:45 p.m. at a home on Venice Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Police say the teenagers were playing with the gun when it went off, striking one of them near the armpit.

The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition, and the other was taken into custody.
