Early voting was up across Kentucky in comparison to the last midterm election in 2022.

During Kentucky’s early voting period between Thursday and Saturday, 377,269 Kentuckians cast ballots. Most of them were Democrats, 180,541. Republicans had 170,304 voters.

The combined total of absentee voters and early voters is 438,602. Republican Secretary of State Michael Adams said on X that turnout in the last midterm election year, 2022, was 337,975, so voting this year was about 30% higher. The absentee and early voting turnout out in 2023, a gubernatorial election year, was 313,009.

Kentucky voters set the highest early voting and absentee record in 2024 with 792,476 votes ahead of the presidential election.

The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Polls across Kentucky will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time. The Kentucky State Board of Elections website lists addresses for all polling locations by county, along with addresses for absentee ballot drop-off locations.

How to report suspected fraud

Republican Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman’s office will monitor an election fraud hotline, as it has done in previous elections. To submit tips or make reports of suspected election fraud, call (800) 328-VOTE or visit an online portal to submit information.

Ahead of midterm elections, the U.S. Department of Justice unveiled a plan to send about 1,000 federal election monitors to polling sites. Monitors are expected to be in Jefferson and Fayette counties, the largest counties in Kentucky.

After that, Kentucky Democrats and Republicans said they are launching their own election issues hotlines. To reach the Kentucky Democratic Party’s hotline, call 833-468-6835. To contact the Republican Party of Kentucky, call (502) 557-7788 or visit protectthevote.com/report-fraud/kentucky.
