Canyon Lake firefighter arrested on DWI charge

A Canyon Lake firefighter was booked last week on a charge of driving while intoxicated, according to Comal County jail records.

New Braunfels police arrested Elijah Paul Richter, 22, on Oct. 30, records show. He was released from jail the same day on a $3,000 bond.

Richter is currently on administrative leave from the Canyon Lake Fire Department pending review, Fire Chief Robert Mikel confirmed to KSAT Investigates on Monday.

KSAT Investigates has reached out to the New Braunfels police department for details about what led up to Richter’s arrest.
