Liberace’s former townhouse in Las Vegas hits market for $575K — PHOTOS
A Las Vegas townhouse once owned by entertainer Liberace is on the market for $575,000.
The three-bedroom home, located on East St. Louis Avenue within the Marycrest Manor community near the Las Vegas Country Club, was owned by Liberace from 1978 to 1982, according to listing agent Margaretha Breytenbach of Real Broker LLC. Built in 1978, the 2,620-square-foot residence has 3½ bathrooms and features a framed deed documenting his ownership.
Breytenbach said the rumor is that Liberace’s mother lived in the townhouse and that he visited her frequently. The property offers a glimpse of another part of the entertainer’s Las Vegas life beyond his better-known mansion on Shirley Street.
“The property reflects the dramatic design sensibility that became his signature, glamorous finishes, decorative details and spaces created to make an impression,” she said. “Among its most distinctive features are an elaborate mirrored bar and a striking marble bathroom, elements that evoke the opulence and theatricality associated with the entertainer.”
Liberace, known for his elaborate costumes and theatrical performances, became one of Las Vegas’ most recognizable entertainers. He maintained a long-running residency in the city while touring internationally. He died in 1987 at age 67.
Breytenbach said photographs and videos of the townhouse have attracted attention on social media, generating shares and reactions.
“Its distinctive character sets it apart from the increasingly uniform finishes found in many contemporary homes,” she said. “Liberace remains one of the defining figures of Las Vegas entertainment history. His legacy lives on through his music, costumes, residences and the unmistakable design aesthetic that made him an international icon.”
