Pay to park begins at Houston's Galleria today. Here's what it will cost you

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Shoppers heading to the Galleria after Monday will officially have an extra cost added to their visit.

Earlier in October, according to the Simon Property Group, the Galleria introduced a "modern parking system designed to provide convenient parking for guests visiting to shop, dine, and enjoy the center."

The fee applies to several garages and has select parking rates:

• $2 for up to four hours
• $5 for four to seven hours
• $25 for up to 24 hours

Some retailers may offer parking validation at their discretion and employees are still set to park in the designated free areas.
