1 dead, 3 injured after shooting at youth football championship game
MADISON, Ill. (First Alert 4/Gray News) - One person died and three others were injured after a shooting at a youth football championship game Sunday night, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at Madison Senior High School around 9:50 p.m. during a football game unrelated to the school.
The three injured victims were taken to local hospitals, while the fourth victim died on scene.

The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis is handling the investigation into the shooting. Law enforcement is looking for witnesses and anyone else with information to come forward.
“Someone in that crowd saw something, recorded something, or has heard something since. We are asking those people to come forward,” said Lt. Andrew Pierson, public information officer for the Major Case Squad. “You do not have to have the whole story, a single photo, a short video, or one detail you think is insignificant may be exactly what moves this investigation forward.”
The school district canceled Monday classes and said they will resume Wednesday.
The district released a statement saying it “is deeply saddened by the shooting” and that while the game was not organized or sponsored by the district, “this violence affects our entire school community.”
Counseling and support services will be offered to students and staff.
Authorities ask anyone with information to contact the command post at 618-709-7750 or CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477.
