Terry Black’s Barbecue to open first San Antonio location Nov. 17
Terry Black’s Barbecue, the Austin-founded Texas barbecue establishment, will open its first San Antonio restaurant to the public this month.
The San Antonio restaurant will open to the public at 10:30 a.m. on Nov. 17 and is the chain’s eighth location, located at 2102 Broadway, near Pearl.
Siblings Christina, Michael and Mark Black founded the first Terry Black’s Barbecue on Barton Springs Road in Austin in 2014, naming it for their father, Terry. The family-owned business has since expanded to Dallas, Lockhart, Waco, Fort Worth, Houston and New Braunfels.
“San Antonio is one of the state’s most celebrated food cities; we are thrilled to add our family recipes, time-honored smoking techniques, and genuine Texas hospitality to this city,” said Mike Black, co-founder of Black Family Hospitality. “We look forward to welcoming San Antonio locals and visitors to gather over great barbecue.”
The restaurant will serve the full Terry Black’s lineup, including slow-smoked sliced brisket and beef and pork ribs, sides such as mac and cheese and potato salad, and desserts including banana pudding and peach cobbler.
The restaurant also plans to offer OpenTable reservations, Uber Eats delivery and catering requests. Guests can also book The Terry Black’s Experience, a behind-the-scenes outing that includes a private tour of the pits, a chance to meet the pitmasters and a barbecue meal at a reserved table.
The restaurant will be open seven days a week. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
