A teen was critically injured after an apparent subway surfing incident from a moving train in Brooklyn, according to law enforcement sources.
The 14-year-old boy was riding atop a northbound express train along the J/M/Z lines just before 4 p.m. when he fell off and landed on the road bed near the Hewes Street station in Williamsburg, police sources said.
The teen was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition, according to sources. Police said later in the evening he was undergoing surgery and was expected to survive.
Service along the J and M lines was suspended between Brooklyn and Manhattan for much of the evening rush hour as a result of the incident, but returned after 6 p.m.
