St. Louis Fire Department promotes 6 members
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Six members of the St. Louis Fire Department are being promoted. The department held a ceremony Monday to celebrate.
Among those promoted is Capt. Garon Mosby, who has been the department’s public information officer for 13 years. He will become a battalion chief and the chief instructor at the fire academy.
Chief Dennis Jenkerson said movement across the department is something the department prepares for.
“The fire department is a very integrated service. I mean, we train in different positions. We meet every day, talk about what issues are going on within the other departments, or the other bureaus within the department,” Jenkerson said.
Fire Capt. Nicholas Long has been named the department’s next public information officer. He will complete training and onboarding before going into the role.
