1 dead, another injured in shooting in unincorporated Snohomish

A 21-year-old man was killed, and another 21-year-old was injured after a shooting early Sunday in unincorporated Snohomish.

Deputies responded just before 2 a.m. to a 911 call reporting a shooting in the 6100 block of 172nd St. SE, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).

“They found two 21-year-old men with gunshot wounds,” Courtney O’Keefe, a spokesperson for SCSO, said. “One later died at a hospital. The second man’s injuries were not life-threatening.”

The shooting is believed to have happened at a residence where multiple people were present. Detectives are working to determine what led to the shooting and whether the victims and suspect knew one another. No arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing, and the sheriff’s office said it does not believe there is an active threat to the public. Detectives are seeking information from anyone who was at or near the residence.

“At this time, it remains an active investigation. No arrests have been made, and detectives continue to investigate the circumstances that led up to the shooting,” O’Keefe said.

Anyone with information can call the SCSO’s major crimes tip line at 425-388-3845.
