NJ election results 2026: Cory Booker projected winner in New Jersey Senate race

TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Cory Booker is the projected winner in the New Jersey Senate race, defeating Republican Justin Murphy, according to ABC News.

Booker won a third full term over Murphy, a little-known attorney who emerged from a crowded field in his party's June primary.

New Jersey has not elected a Republican senator since 1972.

Booker, the former mayor of Newark and a former presidential candidate, has been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump.
