October is in the books, & Jacksonville “officially” ended up with the 9th wettest October on record. But there were a number of places near the coast & near & south of I-10 that had as much as 15-20 inches.

November has kicked off wet too but not near as wet as parts of Central & South Florida. A stalled front oscillating north & south with very warm & humid air to its south along with small but significant disturbances moving along the front made for an unfortunately perfect recipe for slow moving tropical downpours. While some blamed the ongoing strong El Nino for the severe flooding, it didn’t appear to be purely driven by a strong subtropical jet stream which is more likely to occur over the coming weeks & months - through winter - leading to a wetter - & at times stormier - than average winter for Florida & much of the Southeast U.S.
