Tropical development is possible in the Atlantic
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - An area of low pressure in the Atlantic is being monitored by the National Hurricane Center (NHC) for possible development.
It’s located a few hundred miles south of Bermuda and is being monitored closely as it moves slowly eastward across the western to central Subtropical Atlantic. It poses no threat to land.
The system has a low chance of forming into something more organized over the next 48 hours, with forecasters giving it about a 20 percent chance. It’s been given a 40% chance of development within the next seven days as it moves into a favorable environment.
If it doesn’t develop before early next week, conditions are expected to become unfavorable for further development.
The next name on the Atlantic list is Kyle.
