Fred Wellman unseats Ann Wagner

WEST ST. LOUIS COUNTY (First Alert 4) – Fred Wellman has defeated incumbent Ann Wagner in the race for Missouri’s Second Congressional District.

Wellman unseated the seven-term Congresswoman Tuesday in an upset to represent much of the St. Louis area in Congress. The district covers west St. Louis County, south St. Louis County, part of St. Charles and Warren Counties, and all of Franklin County.

Recent polls showed a close race, with some Democrats hoping that Wellman could beat Wagner in a seat the GOP has held since the early 1990s
