Rep. Frank Pallone wins 20th term in Congress

Rep. Frank Pallone (D) will win a 20th term in Congress after overcoming a challenge from former U.S. Department of Homeland Security staffer Hillary Herzig, the Associated Press projects.

Pallone, the most senior Democrat in New Jersey’s House delegation, is the ranking Democrat on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and would be expected to take over as chair if Democrats retake the House after Tuesday’s elections.

Before ascending to Congress in 1988, Pallone spent four years as a member of the state Senate.
