MBTA Commuter Rail trains fatally hit people at two stations Tuesday, leading to delays and cancelations on multiple lines.
Transit officials said all Kingston Line trains were being replaced by shuttle bus service between Braintree and Kingston, citing police activity on the right of way in Abington, Massachusetts.
Abington police said the incident involves a train and a pedestrian. MBTA Transit Police later confirmed a woman had been hit around 4:10 p.m. at the Summer Street crossing.
The woman was pronounced dead, authorities said.
A train on the Providence/Stoughton Line was also canceled due to police activity. Footage showed authorities responding to the Readville stop in Boston.
MBTA Transit Police told NBC10 Boston a man was fatally hit just before 4 p.m. after he “intentionally placed himself in the path” of a train.
