Countywide offices: Wolfson running unopposed, Goya leading clerk’s race
Although Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson was on the ballot, his victory was a foregone conclusion.
That is because Wolfson ran unopposed. But several other countywide offices will be determined after Tuesday’s election results are tallied.
Here is where things stand in the races for clerk, recorder, assessor and public administrator in Clark County:
County clerk
Incumbent Clark County Clerk Lynn Marie Goya was leading Republican Howell Shaw and Libertarian Party of Nevada nominee 61.6 percent to 36.7, initial results show. Libertarian George Stamper had 1.7 percent.
County recorder
Democratic nominee Tanya Flanagan was leading Republican Bill Young 60.9 percent to 36.8 percent, according to preliminary results. Libertarian Steven Borella had 2.3 percent.
County assessor
Democrat Tamicka Washington appeared in the lead with 60.3 percent of the vote to Republican Judy Joe’s 37.5 percent in the race for assessor. Libertarian Lynette Warren had 2.2 percent.
Public administrator
Stephanie Itkin-Goodman, the Democratic nominee, led Republican Michael Murphy 61 percent to 39 percent. The winner will replace incumbent Rita Reid, who declined to run for re-election.
