Salazar is a former television journalist who worked at NBC Universal’s Telemundo and other Spanish-language stations before her election to the House.

The daughter of Cuban exiles, Salazar serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the House Committee on Small Business. 

The general election is on Nov. 3.
