GBI: Police officer arrested, accused of sexual exploitation of children in Camden County

A Coastal Pines Technical College police officer was arrested Tuesday on a charge of sexual exploitation of children.

Nathan Gwaltney, 29, of Kingsland, was booked into the Camden County Jail following an investigation led by the GBI.

The GBI’s Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit began investigating Gwaltney’s online activity in September 2026 after receiving a Cyber Tipline Report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, a GBI news release states.

The report detailed the possible online possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material. The charges are not related to any contact with Coastal Pines Technical College students, the GBI said.

The Kingsland Police Department and the Coastal Pines Technical College Police Department assisted GBI agents during the investigation.
