17-year-old arrested in connection with stabbing death of 13-year-old in NW Harris Co., HCSO says

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- A 17-year-old was taken into custody overnight in connection with the stabbing death of a 13-year-old in northwest Harris County, according to authorities.

The Harris County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to a stabbing call at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday to the 3200 block of Bolton Gardens. When deputies arrived, they found a 13-year-old boy who had been stabbed.

The 13-year-old was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Investigators said there was a fight between the suspect and multiple juveniles outside of the suspect's home. During the fight, the suspect allegedly chased the juveniles down the street and, a short distance down, stabbed the victim.

Details of what started the fight remain unknown. An investigation continues into the case.
