The arson aimed at destroying the political signs in question happened the day before voting precincts reopened for the general election.

The intersection of Willow Lane and Superior Avenue in Decatur is just a 4-5 minute drive from the voting precinct at First Baptist Church of Decatur, and depending on the route taken, less than a mile away.

Another precinct at Druid Hills High School was a five minute drive away as well.

Two other precincts within a similar distance were the Holy Trinity Parish on Ponce de Leon Ave and the Atlanta Christian Assembly on Jordan Lane.

The investigation into the arson case continues, police said. A suspect has not been identified.
