HARRISBURG (WPVI) -- Historic midterm election results have flipped the balance of power, as Democrats have taken control of the House and Senate in Washington.
Here in Pennsylvania, Democrats have achieved the so-called "trifecta," taking control of the Senate, House, and Governor's Mansion for the first time since 1993.

Following the victory, Democrats are rallying in Harrisburg on the state capitol steps.
The Democrats flipped control of the Senate Tuesday night, gaining three seats for a 26-seat majority in the commonwealth.
Democrats already had a slim majority in the House, but that grew as well, gaining seven seats, now with a firm majority.
With divided government, we have seen very few bills get passed, and there have been fights over things like transit funding and the minimum wage. But with a trifecta, Democrats will have nothing standing in the way of their agenda.
Action News spoke with House Speaker Joanna McClinton about what we can expect to see when they take control of both chambers in January.
"Well first of all - we had so many things that failed because of the Senate Republicans refusing to compromise. So, we look forward to finally closing the loop on raising the minimum wage, funding our transit system, fairly funding our education, getting ahead of the data center influx," McClinton said.
Those are just some of the priorities she says they will have in the General Assembly.
