THE WOODLANDS, Texas (KTRK) -- The Woodlands High School went into lockdown on Wednesday following reports that someone made a threat by phone, according to the Conroe Independent School District.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to the school and secured the campus. Shortly after, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) responded to the high school.
According to the sheriff's office, students are being transported by bus to a parent pickup location, which the school will communicate directly to parents via text message.
Officials said all students will be bused to the designated pickup location. Law enforcement said all students and staff are safe.
Officials said no injuries were reported but have not released details about the nature of the threat.
It was also confirmed that Lone Star College in the Woodlands was placed on lockdown in response to the threat at the high school. Officials said it was out of an abundance of caution.
An investigation is still ongoing.
