County-by-county results: Maps show how Florida voted for governor, U.S. Senate, and House
Florida voters continued the Sunshine State’s nearly 30-year streak of Republican governors, electing Byron Donalds as the state’s first Black governor in Tuesday’s 2026 midterm election.
The U.S. House Representatives for Florida stayed mostly red as well. Just eight of Florida’s 28 representatives are Democrats.

Donalds, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump, thanked Trump in his victory speech to supporters in South Florida.
“I want you to hear from Florida that we are still red,” Donalds told the crowd. “Mr. President, I also want to tell you thank you for your support and thank you for being in my corner.”
Donalds’ opponent, Democrat David Jolly, faced steep obstacles in winning the election. There are nearly 1.5 million more registered Republicans in the state than Democrats, and Donalds dominated his opponent in fundraising, the AP reported.

In Florida’s U.S. Senate race, Republican Ashley Moody, who was appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis in 2025, held onto her seat on Tuesday.
The margin of victory over Democrat and Jacksonville native Angie Nixon came down to less than 250,000 votes.
Moody told supporters Tuesday night in Tampa that she was in office to serve all Floridians.
“I am mindful that there are millions of Floridians that voted for someone else ... I want everyone to know whether you voted for me or you didn’t vote for me, I am your senator and I am here to serve you,” Moody said.
Nixon hinted at her future Tuesday night, posting on Facebook that “2028 is just around the corner,” -- and that’s when the seat Moody just won is up for election again.
“I’m going to wake up again tomorrow and start fighting,” Nixon told supporters at Emerald Station in Springfield on Tuesday night.
