3rd suspect pleads guilty in shooting death of Colin Brown
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A third suspect has pleaded guilty in the shooting death of Colin Brown.
Brown and his father were on Interstate 55 near Loughborough and Bates, driving home from a hockey game, when Brown was hit by an “apparent stray bullet” the night of Nov. 23, 2024. Brown died from his injuries on Nov. 27.
On Wednesday, James Roach pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Prosecutors said both parties agreed to a life-in-prison sentence. The sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 18, 2027.
Diamond and Donovan Baucom have also pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and three counts of armed criminal action. Their pleas were part of an agreement with the prosecutor’s office.
A fourth suspect, Garrett Jordan, who is facing first-degree murder and related charges, was expected to plead guilty during a hearing in mid-October. Moments after Judge Raynard Perkins entered the courtroom for that plea hearing, he informed those gathered that Jordan had declined to plead and that he would go to trial.
