EXETER TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Police in Berks County say a student is in custody after showing up to school with a handgun following online threats.
Authorities were called to Exeter Junior High School on Wednesday morning after the student allegedly made online threats toward two other students.
Police say those threats were accompanied by a video showing the suspect manipulating a handgun.
The gun, later identified as a Ruger-57, was found in a school hallway trash can at the school.
Police said in a statement they believe the suspect obtained the firearm while visiting the residence of a family friend, but they are still investigating how the student accessed the gun.
The Exeter Township Police Department said there are no known additional threats to the junior high school at this time.
