First Alert: Sunnier Thursday ahead before a cooler weekend
Quiet weather conditions will be around the Mid-South, but cooler temperatures are ahead for the upcoming weekend.
Sunnier skies and warmer temperatures are expected on Thursday, which will likely be the warmest day over the next week. A weak cold front is going to swing through the Mid-South Thursday night into Friday morning, and while this could bring a stray shower to Northeast Arkansas, overall, it will knock temperatures down a few notches for the upcoming weekend. If you have any plans for Friday, the weather should cooperate quite nicely!
Afternoon high temperatures between Saturday and Sunday will likely be in the upper 50s for many towns and cities. Even if your specific area is able to reach 60°, the majority of the afternoon and evening hours will be spent in the 50s. Overnight lows from Saturday night into Sunday morning as well as Sunday night into Monday morning will be in the 30s for most areas, so if you have any sensitive vegetation, make the proper preparations for that. Dry weather conditions should prevail throughout the weekend.
Temperatures will warm up during the beginning and middle of next week. Afternoon highs should return to the middle to upper 60s from Monday through at least Wednesday and overnight lows will attempt to surge into the 40s. All of those values are relatively close to average. Dry weather should also prevail to begin next week.
One thing to keep an eye out for is patchy fog. Thursday morning, Sunday morning and Monday morning could have issues pertaining to low visibility values, so especially if you live in an area notorious for fog, you’ll likely be dealing with it over the next week.
Wednesday night/Thursday morning: Mostly clear skies. Patchy fog is possible, too. Low temperatures will range from the lower 40s to the lower 50s.
Thursday: Mostly sunny skies. High temperatures ranging from the upper 60s to the middle 70s.
Thursday night/Friday morning: Partly cloudy skies with a slight chance of a shower in Northeast Arkansas. Low temperatures ranging from the lower 40s to the lower 50s.
Friday: Mostly sunny skies. Highs temperatures ranging from the lower 60s to the upper 60s.
Beyond that: Cooler temperatures are ahead for this weekend, as Saturday is not expected to reach 60° while Sunday will be a tick warmer. Sunday morning will be the chilliest morning during this stretch with many towns and cities slipping into the 30s and that is possible on Monday morning, too. If you have any sensitive vegetation, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to cover it up/keep it warm. Temperatures will climb back up to near average values for the beginning and middle of next week and dry weather conditions will likely continue, too.
