What to Know
- Tune in to Celtics Pregame Live at 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Boston.
- The 5-2 Boston Celtics host the 1-6 Milwaukee Bucks at TD Garden.
- Jayson Tatum will miss his first game of the season, as the C’s will keep him out for rest.
- Tyler Herro leads the Bucks in points with 21.9 per game, while Kel’el Ware brings down 8.7 rebounds per game off the bench.
- The C’s will hit the road for four games after this, with 10 of their next 13 games being away from TD Garden.
If there’s one thing Jayson Tatum does not like to do, it’s missing games due to rest.
“I don’t like to sit,” he said a few years ago. “I understand if I was injured or whatever, but I’ve said it before, I just love to play play the game.”
Unfortunately for the fans at TD Garden this evening, they won’t be seeing the Celtics’ superstar take the court, as he’s been ruled out for rest.
Tatum’s absence will be matched by Paul George’s return, after he sat out the second leg of a back-to-back in Houston on Monday.
Fresh off trading Giannis Antetokounmpo over the offseason, the Bucks enter this game with a 1-6 record, allowing 124.1 points per game, which is third-worst in the NBA. The Celtics should still be able to take care of business without their best player, but that is why they play the game.
As for the game, follow along with the live blog below for updates, highlights and analysis as the C’s look to bounce back from Monday’s loss in Houston.
