2 injured in dog attack in Madison County

LIVINGSTON, Ill. (First Alert 4) - Two people were injured in a dog attack that occurred in a town in Madison County, Illinois on Tuesday morning.

Police say the attack happened around 5:00 a.m. in a home in the 400 block of S. 3rd Street in Livingston, Illinois.

Authorities say a dog from a neighbor’s house entered the home and attacked the residents’ dog. The two victims were bitten multiple times as they tried to protect their dog.

One of the victims grabbed an object and hit the attacking dog to try and stop the attack. The attacking dog was killed.

The victims were taken to a local hospital. Their dog was taken to an animal hospital with injuries by a family friend.
