What to Know
- Check out the latest episode of the Celtics Talk Podcast.
- The Celtics fended off the Milwaukee Bucks, who surged in the second half to take a fourth-quarter lead after trailing by 22 at halftime.
- Paul George scored 25 points, while Derrick White had 24.
- Payton Pritchard had 10 points and didn’t attempt a three but left the game with a right eye abrasion.
- Neemias Queta had 12 rebounds, while Mitchell Robinson had 10.
That was … a whole lot closer than anybody thought it would be. And that was both the pregame feeling and the halftime expectation, after the C’s had opened up a 22-point lead at the break.
But the Milwaukee Bucks, entering the night with a 1-6 record, were relentless in the second half, winning the third quarter by 12 points and taking their first lead of the game with 6:50 left in the fourth.
But the late-game execution of Paul George and Derrick White proved to be too much for the Bucks to handle, and the C’s escaped with a 109-102 victory.
