Gov. Reeves confident Hyde-Smith will retain Senate seat

FLOWOOD, Miss. (WLBT) - Gov. Tate Reeves said he is confident Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith will come out on top and retain her U.S. Senate seat.

Reeves spoke in an exclusive interview in Flowood, where he was attending a panel discussion at a Mississippi Economic Development legislative conference.

Reeves said it was a difficult environment for Republicans around the country. He cited the loss of the House and Senate to Democrats.

“The reality is, it was only two short years ago when President Trump won every swing state and so, in today’s world, political cycles can change very quickly and we as a state and we as a party are gonna have to certainly analyze what led to this moment and improve and get better which is always the case,” Reeves said.
