2 teens shot in Humboldt Park alley

Someone opened fire, hitting two boys early Thursday in a Humboldt Park alley.

The two, 15 and 17, were standing in an alley around 3 a.m. in the 1400 block of North Fairfield Avenue when they were shot, Chicago police said.

The younger boy was shot in the abdomen and taken to Stroger Hospital where he was in serious condition, police said.

The older teen was shot in the left hand and was taken to the same hospital in fair condition, officials said.

Area 5 detectives were investigating.
