FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- In Fort Bend County, Democrat Dexter McCoy is projected to be the next county judge after months of controversy about who would take over the seat.
Republican Daniel Wong was sworn in as the acting judge following the suspension and removal of KP George, who was sentenced for money laundering charges earlier this year.
This suspension is not related to his conviction, but rather the result of a formal complaint alleging that George improperly removed a woman from a public meeting last year.

Election results show McCoy is projected to take over the role.
