A man is dead after falling from the roof of a vacant apartment building on the Southeast Side, according to the San Antonio Police Department.
Officers responded just before 5 a.m. Thursday in the 4400 block of Pecan Valley Drive.
According to police, two men were on the roof when one of them reported hearing gravel sliding, turned around and realized the other man was gone.
The man went down, found the other male and called for help, police said.
He was pronounced dead later at the scene and described to be in his 50s, SAPD said.
Authorities said they believe the two men were friends and neither is believed to live at the complex.
At this time, it’s unclear why the men were on the roof or what caused the man to fall.
