The crash occurred on Oct. 26 just before 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Lake Acworth Drive and Kemp Ridge Road.

Police said the crash occurred after a driver stopped at a stop sign and failed to yield before pulling into oncoming traffic.

According to police, 45-year-old Daryl Cooke of Dallas was traveling north on Kemp Ridge Road in a blue 2021 Toyota Camry.

Cooke stopped at a stop sign and tried to cross Lake Acworth Drive, pulling into the path of an eastbound black 2026 Ford F-150 driven by 58-year-old Adren Mathna of Dallas.
