Shelter-in-place issued for Wolman Elementary following gas leak nearby, City of Katy says

KATY, Texas (KTRK) -- Wolman Elementary School is under a shelter-in-place following a reported nearby gas leak, according to the City of Katy Office of Emergency Management.

Officials said the Katy Fire Department is responding to a leak near Llano Springs Drive. Officials said the leak happened after a contractor struck a 2-inch gas main.

CenterPoint Energy has also responded to help address the leak.

Katy FD coordinated with Katy Independent School District and issued the shelter-in-place as a precaution, city officials said.

There are no reports of any injuries.
