PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The search continued Thursday for a 10-year-old West Philadelphia girl who has been missing for more than a week.

Jalayshia Allford was last seen on Oct. 26 at a home on the 500 block of North Simpson Street, where she lived.

Sources told Action News that Jalayshia was living in foster care at the time of her disappearance. Investigators have reportedly been reviewing conflicting accounts from adults connected to the case.

Police have previously stated that the child "may be at special risk of harm or injury."

Jalayshia's biological father, Nazir Allford, told Action News on Wednesday he is struggling to cope with the uncertainty surrounding his daughter's whereabouts.

"All I'm concerned with is my child. I'm not concerned about nothing else," he said.

Other biological family members are struggling with a lack of answers.

"It's really so much pain in not knowing," said Nyfisha Allford, Jalayshia's aunt.

Family members expressed concern for both Jalayshia and her father. Court records show he previously pleaded guilty to charges related to interference with child custody. Relatives said he wants what is best for his daughter.

"He loved his daughter. His daughter loved him. We're vouching for that as a family because we know that," said Nafis Horne, Jalayshia's uncle.

Nazir says he has dedicated his life to gaining custody of his daughter after she entered the foster system a few years ago.

Family members called on Jalayshia's foster parent to speak out.

"I would just really like it if you can come out, speak to the news, speak to somebody. Let us know what's going on," Nyfisha Allford said.

Anyone with information can call or text Philadelphia police at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or submit an anonymous tip online.
