USPS: Help make ‘Operation Santa’ a success by volunteering to answer kids’ letters and buy gifts

The U.S. Postal Service is looking for volunteers for its Operation Santa, a program that answers children’s letters and helps make their holiday wishes come true.

People who are interested in participating must register in advance online and verify their identity on the postal service’s website.

The program begins November 16 when approved participants can select letters to answer and shop for gifts.

Volunteers can shop in their own or use an online gift guide power by Toys “R’ Us. All gifts must be shoipped by December 12.
