Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa to first host press conference after historic win

Governor-elect Gina Hinojosa will hold her first press conference following her decisive victory in the governor’s race.

The conference is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in Austin.

KSAT will livestream the event in this article and KSAT Plus. Delays are possible; if there is not a livestream available, please check back at a later time.

According to a news release, the conference comes after Hinojosa’s initial conversations with outgoing Gov. Greg Abbott after her election win.

Abbott conceded the race, marking the end of his 12 years in the role. On Tuesday, he said he called Hinojosa and offered to assist her during the transition period.

When Hinojosa takes office in January 2027, she will be the first Latina sworn in as Texas governor and the first Democratic governor since Ann Richards, who left office in 1995.
